Extremely drought- and heat-tolerant, long-lived howitzer. Its roots can reach depths of 1 to 1.3 m.

It was first cultivated in Hungary, but thanks to its great properties it spread throughout Europe. It can handle grazing well, but it can also be used effectively as a mower. A useful mower mixture component that can be used as coal or preserved. When sown with Lucerne, it gives a very good result in dry conditions. Thanks to its deep root system and howitzer formation, it can be used very well in places exposed to erosion and ravine.
