Bonfire is a Dutch rye variety with a particularly high weight (20-30 tonnes/ha wilted), which is mainly suitable for the production of bulk fodder. Due to its intrinsic properties and excellent digestibility, it is ideally suited for use as bulk feed in dairy farms. Another advantage is that it can be harvested about 7-10 days earlier than other rye varieties, thus facilitating work organisation and feed supply. Another advantage of the earliest harvest is that spring plants can be incorporated into the crop rotation after cooking.
