With the help of the rooted symbiont Rhizobium meliloti, one of the most nitrogen-binding leguminous fodder plants on poor soils. It grows to a height of 1.5-2 m, can be fed after sowing, as hay or in a mixture, can also be used as pasture. As a cover plant, it is sown with rye. It is an excellent honey stone, producing 200-300 kg of honey per hectare and meeting the nutritional needs of 27 bee colonies, blooming between June and August.
