Sand oats are drought-tolerant green manure plants that are not demanding on the soil. It can also be used as feed. Nematode is a thinning, intensively developed plant. Due to the wide sowing time interval, it can be used very flexibly.

Due to its rapid development, rich foliage and flexible sowing time, it is a very good mulch plant, as it quickly covers the soil, effectively suppressing weeds, freezes in winter

With its very richly branched and relatively deep-penetrating root system, it enmeshes the soil, absorbs and binds its residual nitrogen content, preventing nutrient leaching.

It can be fed green and ensiled, it can be grazed.

Its grain yield is similar to oats, the smaller the grains and the darker the colour of the fodder.
