Pohánka (Hajdina)

It is a fast-growing, robust Hungarian breed with good weed suppression ability. It rises quickly and is characterized by an extremely wide sowing time interval (May-August). From a plant protection point of view, it is a good precursor, as it has no significant pathogens and pests, it can be grown without chemicals, it reduces the spread of diseases and pests. It is not demanding in terms of soil quality, it tolerates very warm periods well. It is a frost-sensitive covering plant that will surely freeze in winter. In commodity production, it is primarily a second-seed plant, but it also performs well in main sowing, developing well even under the most unfavourable conditions. Its nutrient composition is very favorable, it can be well used in modern food production. It blooms very long and richly, it is a very good honeymooner, an excellent bee pasture. Pohanka can be used in any crop rotation, it is not susceptible to pathogens and has practically no pests. Her weed suppression ability is good, she freezes quickly in winter.
